SUMMARY:Children's Liturgy
DESCRIPTION:Liturgy of the Word for Children is a program in which the Sun
 day scripture readings are proclaimed and explained on a level appropriate
  to children attending Kindergarten through Third grade and higher.  \nBef
 ore every Sunday Morning Mass an announcement is made to meet our Children
 ’s Liturgy Catechist in the back of the church to be escorted to our Child
 ren’s Liturgy Room.\n\nAfter a welcome and prayer\, the children are read 
 the Sunday Gospel and given an activity worksheet to help them understand.
   Our ushers will let the catechist know when it’s time to return to Mass.
  \nFollowing a closing prayer\, the children will return to Mass and parti
 cipate in the Presentation of the Gifts before returning to their seat wit
 h their parents.\n\nThe Children Liturgy program begins in September and e
 nds in May.  Any child in this age group may participate.  All Children’s 
 Liturgy Catechists have safe environment training and background checks as
  required by the Archdiocese of New Orleans.\n
