Food Pantry Collection for SM & IJ - Second Sunday of the Month St Martha Church and Infant Jesus of Prague Food Pantry Weekend.

Liturgy of the Word for Children is a program in which the Sunday scripture readings are proclaimed and explained on a level appropriate to children attending Kindergarten through Third grade and higher. Before every Sunday Morning Mass an announcement is made to meet our Children’s Liturgy Catechist in the back of the church to be escorted to our Children’s Liturgy Room. After a welcome and prayer, the children are read the Sunday Gospel and given an activity worksheet to help them understand. Our ushers will let the catechist know when it’s time to return to Mass. Following a closing prayer, the children will return to Mass and participate in the Presentation of the Gifts before returning to their seat with their parents. The Children Liturgy program begins in September and ends in May. Any child in this age group may participate. All Children’s Liturgy Catechists have safe environment training and background checks as required by the Archdiocese of New Orleans.
